Besides fishing in the canal or on the river there is great fishing in Lake George, Lake Dexter and Lake Woodruff. You can see lots of wildlife, too, such as turtles, alligators, manatee, bald eagles, osprey, pelicans to name a few. Many restaurants are available by water or land. Ocala National Forest also offers many outdoor activities. There are hiking trails, OHV trails, horse trails, hunting and/or bird watching. It is also a 45 minute ride to the beach or 1-1 1/2 hour drive to many of the attractions such as Cape Canaveral, DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, Sea World and St. Augustine. Plenty of activities to keep everyone happy.
