Heated pool, hot tub, screened lanai, sleeps 6, private home

Property ID: 36962

3 Bedroom(s)    6 Sleep(s)    2 Bathroom(s)

3 bedrooms, 2 bath, large open-concept living space, lovely, private

Brand new listing as of April, 2015. You’ll be charmed from the minute you walk into this lovely, beach–cottage type house, with its fresh colors and its comfy, but elegant look. Although you’re not situated directly on the beach, you are only a few miles from the ocean, so there is usually a gentle ocean breeze, even in the warmest months.

Three skylights in the vaulted ceiling provide natural light and the popular open-concept of the living room, dining room, and kitchen create a light, airy place to relax.

There’s a new 48 inch flat-screen cable HDTV in the living room as well as a 32 inch HDTV in the master bedroom. There’s a lovely painted desk for your computer, so bring your tech toys to use with our free Wi-Fi. You may not choose to spend a lot of time online though, for you’ll find reminders that you’re on vacation wherever you look.

If you like to cook fancy meals, or just a lovely breakfast, you’ll find our new kitchen cabinets with deep double sink, and granite counter tops a delight. The stainless steel appliances are all new in 2015. The complete set of anodized pots and pans make cooking and cleaning so easy. We love to cook, so we’ve added many extras in our kitchen and you’ll have full use of them too, including a 2nd full-sized refrigerator in the garage.

Sliding glass doors open to a screened-in lanai with a nice size heated pool (12x25’) and a hot tub. You’ll want to grill out often, and eat out too, on this lovely lanai surrounded by a variety of palms. Since we’re on a corner lot, and there is an undeveloped lot beside us, there is plenty of privacy.

The master bedroom and master bath with walk-in closet are on one side of the house, and two bedrooms and bath are on the other side. Both bathrooms are brand new, with ceramic floors and matching ceramic shower/tub surrounds. The colors we’ve chosen are easy on the eyes and relaxing, and the furniture is a real upgrade to what you might expect in a rental home. The curtains are light and breezy, but each bedroom has room-darkening curtains to pull across for night time.

Linens and towels are provided. There is a small laundry room with new washer, dryer, ironing board and iron.

Though you may be tempted to stay put and enjoy the sunshine and pool on the property, investigate the town of Sebastian for great restaurants and drive the few minutes to enjoy the uncrowded ocean beaches. The Sebastian Inlet is famous for snook and flounder and we often go there with a picnic lunch to watch the dolphin play. The Sebastian area is designated safe habitat for the loggerhead turtle who come to nest in our beaches in May-July, and there are free evening trips to the beach to watch them dig their nest and lay their eggs. There’s a lot of local history too, with a small free fishing museum at the inlet, two museums to check out the treasure ships lost in the oceans near Sebastian, and an environmental center where children can see and touch small creatures under the sea. Golfers will find several courses in the area. We love the quiet neighborhoods and uncrowded beaches of Sebastian, but it’s nice to have busier Melbourne and Vero Beach nearby for additional attractions.

We bought this property so that our four children, spouses, and 14 grandchildren would have sufficient space to visit both our Florida homes and bring their friends. Since our primary home is elsewhere, when we’re not here, both of our homes are available to rent by the week or two. The two properties are close enough to walk or bike back and forth. If you have a large family or need more space, you might consider renting both homes (this one, which sleeps 6, and #439333, which sleeps 8).
