Tarpon Springs, known for it's sponge diving, great food and shops, is 15+ minutes away. Well known Honeymoon and Clearwater beaches are a short distance South on 19.
Heading North on 19, you might enjoy visiting Weeki Wachee Springs State Park in Hernando County or the newly opened Sun West Beach in Hudson. Or a bit further North you can see the manatees at Homosassa Springs Wild Life State Park. Another great spot to visit is Three Sisters Springs in Crystal River. Your options are truly endless.
