Bayfront Sunsets -perfect family retreat

This is a single family home, not a condo, not a hotel. You share nothing. You will have exqusite privacy. This gorgeous home has 12 foot tongue and groove ceilings, an large, open kitchen with all amenities, a huge pool and raised spa, a dock, two kayaks, a wind surfer, two stand up paddle boards, a pool table, a ping pong table, bikes, a Sunfish sailboat, and a spacious and immaculate interior, most of which looks out upon the west facing bay. The sun, and moon, literally set in your own back yard every day and night.

As you enter the home, you will be immediately taken by the floor to ceiling western view of Buttonwood Bay, and the huge pool and yard. This 4000 square foot, two story house is on an 18,000 square foot lot, with lush landscaping for maximum privacy.

There is plently of room to stretch out. On the first floor, an open great room with gorgeous bay views adjoins the large, open kitchen. A media room, also with a bayfront view, adjoins the great room, but can be closed off when use as a TV room. The wing at the other end of the first floor has two full bedroom suites, separated by a second spacious living room with a queen sofa bed. This sleeping wing is separated by a closed door to permit some to sleep while others stay up late or awaken early. There is a garage full of snorkel gear, two bikes, a washer and dryer and even a charging station for a Tesla.

On the second floor you will find three bedrooms with en suite full bathrooms. One room has a private balcony facing the bay. Another is east facing. The grand master suite is a huge space (20x22) with a large balcony facing west to the bay and gorgeous sunsets. There is a second washer and dryer upstairs for your convenience.

The house may be rented in its entirety, or for a fraction of the price, for the downstairs only. Perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, or guys or girls weekends or honeymoons.

Manatees often hang by the dock and in the shallow waters right off shore during season. It's not unusual to see Dolphins go by. Snorkeling, lobstering and fishing just off shore is easy.

If you are a boater, or jet skier, there is a dock with ramps within a few miles of the property, and plenty of room in the side driveway to store your trailers. There is a small and a large boat lifts if you bring your boat, so your vessel need not sit in the water over night. This coast line is ideal for kayaking or paddle boarding, but the open bay easily leads to either backcountry fishing in Everglades National Park, or a quick trip to the Atlantic and some of the greatest snorkeling and diving in the world in Pennekamp Underwater State Park. There is great off Shore fishing also on the Atlantic side, as the gulf stream is a mere three miles off shore. Fuel docks and ocean access are within 4 miles of the property in both directions.

World famous coral reefs such as Molasses and French reef are three miles off shore. The famous dive wreck Spiegel Grove is also easily accessible. Two large sandbars are easily accessible on the ocean side, and on the bay side, Nest Key and the other barrier islands of the Everglades National Sanctuary are within minutes of the property by boat.

If you come without a boat or gear, everything can be rented, including boats, dive and snorkel gear. However, two kayaks, two paddle boards and a small sail boat are on property, as are two regular bikes and two electric bikes for your use for free.

No trip to the keys would be complete without a drive to Key West, the southern most point in the US. Key West's historic architecture and history, mixed with a tradition of hard partying and shopping, makes it a fun day trip. It's just a two hour drive south on US 1, straight to the end of the continental United States.

There are two grocery stores and two pharmacies within minutes of the property. Mariner's hospital is 5 miles south of the property. Diver's Direct, the largest dive store in the key,s is within walking distance. Many restaurants and shopping opportunities are available both north and south of the property.

Located in the Upper Florida Keys, this home is a little more than an hour from the Miami International Airport, and only two hours from the Southernmost Point of the US, Key West. The location has the feel of a caribbean island, with all the safety and convenience of the United States. This home is truly your dream vacation home. Once there, you will find it hard to leave.
