The new Mall at University Town Center is a 20 minute drive south on the I-75.
There are 35 miles of award-winning white-sand beaches half an hour's drive away at St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Watersports are popular along the warm, calm Gulf Coast shoreline with dolphin watches, pirate and sea-life safari cruises, kayaking, kite surfing, windsurfing and snorkelling. There is also fine dining, beach bars and festivals. The Salvador Dali museum can be found in downtown St Petersburg.
A short drive from St Petersburg is the city of Tampa with more shopping, dining and night-life. It features the Florida Aquarium and there are rollercoaster thrills at Busch Gardens, sister park to Sea World at Orlando.
