53100 private rental Villa Capanna at the lake, in the heart of Chianti 3 km from Siena

We spent 14 days here (4 adults and 3 children), and it was wonderful. The house is very nice, the bedrooms are spacious and clean, all equipped with air conditioning. In general, the house was very clean and well maintained. Pool and jacuzzi also in perfect condition. The view from the pergola and from the pool to the Tuscan countryside is unique. House and garden are unreasonable and at the end of a street. Francesca took great care of us. And the pizzeria of her husband is also highly recommended! An ideal place to unwind, to leave everyday life behind and enjoy the scenery. Siena is only 4km away and offers variety if you want one. We would definitely come again!

The street address to the Capanna was something of a challenge for the sat navs in our company, so it's best to check google maps in advance to give you some idea of it's location but once you get there, all is forgotten! The house is beautifully restored and has all the mod cons one could wish for, the wifi is some of the best I've experienced on holiday. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable but you can't darken them completely (two of them have shutters, the Alice room has no curtains at all), so when traveling with a kid that can only sleep in total darkness, be sure to bring some black bin liners and tape :D The adults in our company didn't mind at all because it's great to wake up to stunning views and the kind of sunshine that promises a spectacular day. The pool is not particularly big but was more than adequate for cooling down and the view from it is truly to die for! The city of Siena is about a 15 min drive away, and has a Coop supermarket for the necessary shopping. Be sure to try the delicacies department there. The city itself is absolutely brilliant, everything comes to life in the evening and we had some lovely meals and even better ice creams there. Francesca is a kind host and you are provided with a phone that allows you to communicate with her very easily through WhatsApp. We would definitely return here, we had an amazing stay!

This trip to Tuscany was to celebrate my 70th birthday with my two jr high/high school friends who also have reached 70. We have been friends for 55+ years and we were celebrating our friendship as well. Of course, our wonderful husbands were with us. We got lost immediately trying to drive to Francesca's property. We called her and she came to guide us to our villa where we would stay for 2 weeks. This was the beginning of just how accommodating she was the whole 2 weeks we were her guests. She provided us with an Italian cell phone so that we could text/call her at any time and also use the Google maps to help guide us so that we did not have to use our own phones. The property where we stayed was comfortable with a postcard view of the valley. Quiet and peaceful, we woke to the chirping birds each day. She helped us plan our whole itinierary prior to our ever arriving and was our guide for two excursions and hosted a cooking class for us. Her knowledege and passion for Siena and Tuscany and her archetectural background made all of our hilltown visits more meaningful. Our cooking class was fun and delicious. Of course, we only helped make the pasta; Francesca and her friend Barbara really made the rest of the meal which was exquisite. Our table was set with candles and lovely place settings and we felt quite pampered. We also had the opportunity to dine at Francesco's restaurant which was a great local experience. I can't say enough about this experience and how much Francesca's personal touch added to our enjoyment of our two weeks. Her warmth, sense of humor, and sharing of herself is unsurpassed from any experience we have had in all our travels. We look forward to seeing her again at some point, either in Italy or in Florida.

While taking many trip in beautiful Tuscany, LA Capanna was a great place to come back to every time. Not only the quiet environment and breathtaking view were very attractive, also the villa itself had all we had hoped for, and more ! You can sense a dedicated architect had created and build this house : big and thick walls, vast first floor dressed with solid wood, and not to forget the beautiful detailing of kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Francesca is not ony a great architect. Her hospitality and warm personality will make you feel safe and welcome even before you arrive ! She is always available when needed, and she fully respects your privacy. Both house and host are extra reasons for us to return some day.

We (4 of us) had a great week at a wonderful house, with a very gracious hostess and Host. Usually when you see pictures of a home or hotel you expect (hope) that it is 75% as nice as the pictures. This house was far nicer than the pictures could ever suggest. Loaded with amenities and privacy, I would call it a gem. Anything you could need is provided for you at the home, just do some grocery shopping and bring your toothbrush. Begin each day looking out over quiet vineyards and farmland, and finish each day in the hot tub sipping wine watching fire flies lighting up the valley below. We couldn't say enough good things about our hostess Francesca and her husband either. When was the last time you could say that you actually miss a host or hostess after you leave an accommodation. These are those type of hosts. This is truly a place I will recommend to all my friends, and if travelling to Tuscany you should not miss.
